Our Company

Built on the Belief That Knowledge Changes Everything

Kukuh Capital was founded in Kuala Lumpur to address a clear gap โ€” Malaysians in their 40s, 50s, and 60s navigating complex financial decisions with too little reliable, objective education available to them.

Our Story

From a Personal Realisation to a Shared Mission

Kukuh Capital was established in 2019 by a group of financial educators who had spent years observing the same pattern: Malaysians approaching retirement age were making significant financial decisions โ€” about EPF withdrawals, unit trust subscriptions, healthcare planning โ€” without access to objective, impartial education on how these instruments actually worked.

The founders recognised that most available financial content was produced by entities with products to sell. Independent financial literacy for the 40-plus age group was, at that time, almost entirely absent from the Malaysian market. The name "Kukuh" โ€” Malay for solid, sturdy, and dependable โ€” reflects the kind of financial grounding we believe every person deserves to have.

Today, Kukuh Capital serves individuals and couples across Klang Valley and beyond, delivering structured educational programmes through both in-person sessions at our Taman Tun Dr Ismail office and secure online platforms for those who prefer remote learning.

Financial Education in Malaysia โ€” Why It Matters at 40 and Beyond

Malaysia's financial landscape presents a distinct set of challenges for those in their middle and later decades. The Employees Provident Fund remains central to retirement planning for most Malaysians, yet many EPF members approach significant withdrawal decisions without a clear understanding of the long-term implications. Unit trust subscriptions โ€” often made on the advice of bank-based distributors with products to sell โ€” represent another area where knowledge gaps can lead to outcomes misaligned with a person's actual circumstances and needs.

Post-retrenchment financial navigation is a particularly acute challenge. Malaysians who have spent decades in structured employment often find themselves without a framework for assessing severance packages, understanding their rights under the Employment Act, or making measured decisions about EPF and insurance during a period of significant stress.

The financial dimensions of ageing โ€” including the cost of long-term care in Malaysia, the range and limitations of local medical insurance products, and the legal and administrative aspects of estate planning โ€” are rarely discussed in an accessible, jargon-free setting. Kukuh Capital's programmes address all of these areas in structured, unhurried educational formats, with content grounded in Malaysian realities and delivered without any commercial agenda.

Our Taman Tun Dr Ismail office serves participants from across Kuala Lumpur and the surrounding Klang Valley, while our online sessions reach participants in Penang, Johor Bahru, Kota Kinabalu, and other Malaysian cities. All sessions are conducted in English, with the ability to accommodate Bahasa Malaysia discussion where helpful.
